(Notes from the publisher: I seriously resisted the urge to edit this, but it was so priceless. She won that little notebook last night and then simply had to record everything she could remember about the evening the minute we walked in the door. Sure, we have areas to work on with the writing, but the point… the point is that she wanted to write. And this is a kid who, as great a reader as she has turned into this year, absolutely hates any assigned writing. So I’ve backed off a bit with this, only to have her turn around and do this. Beautiful. And, Monica, thanks for the poodle skirt. I changed it quite a bit to match the other four, so you won’t recognize it when you see it… but I appreciate that you sent it to me!)

Now then, after Cokes all around at 7 pm, getting back to the farm at 9 pm, and finally getting the caffeine out of everyone’s system by 11:30 pm, they woke up at 6 this morning ready to go.
It’s going to be a long day…
