I’m going on a retreat with some women from my church tonight. I don’t retreat very well. I mean, I don’t retreat with others very well. I’m sure it will be good for me, yada yada yada. I’d still sort of rather stay home and watch a movie with my kids.
As it is, I’ve arranged to ride with three other gals (shocker), but I’m not becoming an entirely different person. I just received Katie’s Writing With Ease Level 1 workbook from The Complete Writer series in the mail today. I’m taking it along to read on the way.
Am I a dork or what?
So, off I go to pack my backpack and get ready to have a rip-roaring good time.

I just got that workbook for my K too – I really like the looks of it. I think it’s more manageable than what I would have had her doing on my own. Did you get the parent book too? I have it if you’d like to borrow it.
Happy retreating. Retreats are just above lock-ins in my world system. Gah.

And thanks for bringing WWE to my attention. Somehow I missed it, or thought that it was for older kids, and now — after I thought I had everything I wanted for this school year — I’m thinking it’s another thing to add to my son’s 2nd grade curricula. Thanks a lot. 😛

I hope you have a wonderful time! Leaving the kids behind is going to be tuff, but you deserve the break. I wish I would have taken a few of those retreats when my kiddos were little. It might have helped refresh and revive me during some of the weary, tiresome times. Don’t forget to socialize, it’ll be good for your soul. 🙂

oh man, a coupla the WC gals and i took a retreat together…at a benedictine retreat center. there was a lot of personal prayer, study, and reflection time. oh, and also naps. we should find a place like that around these parts…meet ya half way!!
