This is our humble tree this year. I like to think of it as a 1950’s artificial version of a Charlie Brown tree. As we’re having the entire living room ceiling torn down the day after Christmas which will involve all kinds of mayhem and mishap and schlepping of stuff all over, it didn’t make a whole lot of sense to get a full-sized normal tree this year. I pulled this one out and each girl’s box of their own ornaments and we told them to choose their 8 favorite from their box. They carefully decided which ones to hang and didn’t mind too much that we didn’t get to put them all on it this year. We explained the why of what we’re doing and they understand. Oh, and that 1984 border you see peeking up at the bottom there? It’s got three weeks to live. Yippee!!
Here it is, December 7, and I still haven’t managed to pull out our Advent stuff. I don’t know what my deal is, I guess I’ve been busy or something. I intend to do that tomorrow as well as hang up their stockings. The good news? Things are going to slow down for me considerably this time next week. That’s going to feel really good.
