After having an awesome camera for just over two years, I’m hoping to take it off of “auto” this Saturday when I take this guy’s photography class. I got the lens and tweeted it to him to show him I was ready for the class and he was all, “Put it on your camera and shoot it wide open at 1.8” and I was all, “Does that mean taking the camera off “auto?” Um, yeah, I need the remedial class here.

So, no, I didn’t use it yet. I tried, but what I tried was definitely not what one would call “photography” or even remotely close to “picture taking” because everything I shot was garbage and had to be trashed.

What I’m trying to say is that I’m looking forward to Saturday. I hope he’s ready to speak in camera baby language here.
