Happy Birthday, Beautiful Maddie!

She is now old enough to go to the campus playground all by herself. Watch out everyone, Maddie is 7! And as she just came up to me and read, “I’m dreaming of a white trash Christmas” over my shoulder, I realize the time has come to be much more selective in what I choose to put into print as I will have to account for my decisions on a 7 year old level at some point – she can read, she can figure out the internet. Maybe it’s time for her own blog…

I love you, Sweetie. I’m proud of who you are becoming. Happy Birthday.

Something Old, Something New

But nothing borrowed or blue…

Highlights of the last couple of weeks in no particular order:

*Finishing my first fall semester at Covenant Seminary and NOT CARING what my grades are. Really.
*Christmas dinner with our friends Ed & Marcie
*Completing four sets of footed fleece jammies for my girls along with four sets of matching fleece jammies for their Bitty Babies just in time for Christmas Eve
*Going to church on Christmas morning (I loved this so much it made me wish Christmas was on Sunday every year)
*Filling the refrigerator door with brand new Christmas card pictures
*Realizing we’ve completed more schooling hours than I thought – we are right on track for where I want us to be
*Time at the farm with Craig’s family (and bowling!)
*Time with my family in the Kansas City area (and playing Apples to Apples – pretty fun)
*Seeing all our new books for the Spring semester begin to arrive (It’s sort of like Christmas every day)

Goals for the next few days:
*Making curtains to hang over the girls’ closet (I removed the doors from all the bedroom closets in the apartment to make more room. Now I want a pretty way to cover what is inside. I’ve been intending to do this very thing at this very time all semester long)
*Make a window treatment for the living room window (Same as above)
*Complete all the sewing repairs I agreed to do for other folks around campus
*Finish a book. Any book.
*Make a new schedule for the Spring semester
*Actually do school work with the girls again next week before taking another week off for my J-term class
*Attend the J-term class, Film & Theology with Denis Haack from January 9-13
*Grocery shop sometime SOON
*Enjoy the remaining days before things pick back up again.

Whew!
