Vacation, All I Ever Wanted

Vacation, Had to Get Away – You probably think you know where this is going. We took an impromptu trip with Craig while he’s leading a retreat with our church. Five people couldn’t go, so their spots were open and paid for, so the five of us happily filled in.

But don’t feel sorry for us, not yet. The only trips we’ve had success with are the ones in which Craig has a job to do and the rest of us can just enjoy endless amounts of Cartoon Network, free wi-fi, prepared meals (albeit camp food…), and an indoor pool. So far, so good.

My vote is to stay here in the room watching TV and resting, but I’m being overruled by four stir-crazies clamoring to get back into the pool. I will never understand a child’s ability to turn off their attention to body temperature and go back and forth between the hot tub and the normal pool at will. My mistake last night was being talked into the hot tub first and then there was simply no getting in the other pool for me. I sat on the edge all night playing security…

So. This is vacation for us and it seems to work. Anybody looking for a retreat speaker in, say, D.C. or Disney World, or San Diego? We’d love to accommodate your need.
